It sets out the journey we writers go through, from asking ourselves whether our manuscript is finished, to deciding when we're ready to query, to the search for an agent, to going on submission to publishing houses. Follow through the questions, and hold your breath if you answer "No" to any of them, 'cause you might be sent back to get some more feedback, to get over yourself and go read, to revise again, or to write a new book!

How about you: Where are you at in your writing journey? Are you winging it, or have you set out to learn as much about the craft of writing as you can before you query?

Hi Rach, it must be useful, but looking at it makes me feel tired.
My writing? For some strange reason I coaxed myself into joining the A-Z blogathon. Now I'm forced to write everyday!

I love this idea. I'm slightly stalled at the moment and so I'm doing reading research in the meantime :O)
Not Querying yet - have to make something worth publishing first :) So I'm still learning the craft. I will be joining the band wagon pretty soon.

It's great isn't it. I LOVE flow charts (especially flow chart humor)
I had a great one called "the problem solving flow chart"
My favorite bit was:
"you poor bastard"
--> "Can you blame someone else"
----> NO PROBLEM!

A very impressing flow chart. I am afraid maps do my head in. Can't make head nor tail of them. But there might be hope for a flow chart.
Very funny! I'm a tech writer. Why didn't I think of that? Right now I'm editing my 500-page mainstream novel. The first 100 pages was OK. The second 100 pages is requiring some slash and burn. I just wish my life was less chaotic so I could focus all my energy on my book.
Rachael, I feel like I'm still all over the chart, working on various projects, querying and learning my craft.

I winged my first novel which I wrote in three months and I LEARNED so much editing said novel for eighteen months. Hmmmm. Maybe I should have waited... lol
