Trust that each word that emerges is the correct and appropriate one. Don't judge.
Trust your imagination.
Trust past your imagination, which has its own limits, and trust those creative sources that guide and inspire you.
Trust the unknown.
Trust the depths of a passion you may not even know you feel.
Trust the light that kindles your faith -- your faith that one word will lead to the next, that two words will form a cogent and coherent thought, that each sentence will form part of a whole that is not visible in the writing of it.
How about you: Do you think trust is a necessary part of your writing?

Nice. I never really thought about it that way. Yeah, I'd say trusting yourself and your characters are part of writing.
I think that yes, in a way I have to trust that the story will come and I will be able to smooth out the wrinkles. I trust that my beta readers will tell me the truth and that I can make my books better with their input. I have to be able to trust that I can tell this story (who else is going to do it?) and that I will be able to finish it.
It can be easy to start worrying about the mechanics of writing or the marketability or what people will think about it, or a million other things. Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and jump in. This is an excellent reminder of that. Thank you.
Should I cue up the Billy Joel song, "It's a Matter of Trust?"
It's hard for me to trust the words that come out, because I always think of a better one. Editing comes naturally to me. I think it's a birth defect.
Oh, yes, occasionally I have a stream-of-consciousness sort of moment when everything pours out perfectly. Once every two or three years, approximately, maybe longer.

I think I do trust my words. I trust that in the beginning there will be dodgy words, and too many of them more than likely. And that in future revisions I will find better words to replace those that went before :D
I think we need that trust for the first draft but should abandon it for the edits.

Tough one, as we're often not the most confident group.But we have to be confident enough to at least get the words out.
I think my trust comes out as I write. It is as I re-read that my confidence flags. But that is not always such a bad thing. When I re-read I do need to make changes and it shows. Trust is important to me in my critique group. When I first had to read my stories out loud that was hard and still is at times. I tend to read too fast when I do. But trust and confidence go together so I need to work on both.
I trust the feeling but not always the words of what I write. When trust in myself fails, I go to my betas and readers and trust them to let me know what needs work.
Absolutely! In fact, trust in my own abilities and creativity is the number one stumbling block I struggle over time and again. "Trust" is my mantra!

I trust that my brain will come up with all kinds of ways to use words that end in -ing to the point that I really need to edit them out or it sounds terrible.
I absolutely think trust is key. Trust in yourself and in the process. I know that when I begin to second guess my abilities as a writer I stop writing. But the thing is, when I stop I am miserable because writing is what I love. I have to trust in this passion of mine no matter where it takes me. I believe all of us who have this desire, have it for a reason and we need to use it. We have to trust in that no matter how inferior we may feel at times.
At least that is how it is with me:)

LOL. Trust is something that is popping up in my WIP. :D
Trust is hard. A-Z challenge made me learn it, because I've had to trot out a new flash piece each day.
